Generac Standby Generator Installation — Northern Michigan
Northern Michigan loses power. Ice storms, high winds, summer lightning — when the grid goes down, a whole-home standby generator keeps your furnace running, your refrigerator cold, your sump pump active, and your family safe. Colvin's is a certified Generac Power Pro Elite dealer.
Why a Standby Generator — Not a Portable One
Portable Generator
- ✕Requires manual setup — during the storm
- ✕Runs on gasoline that degrades over time
- ✕Can't safely power your whole home
- ✕No automatic start — power stays off until you act
- ✕Carbon monoxide risk if used improperly
Generac Standby Generator
- Turns on automatically within seconds of a power outage
- Runs on natural gas or LP — no gasoline to store
- Monitors your home 24/7 with built-in weekly self-testing
- Powers your whole home or essential circuits
- Shuts off automatically when utility power returns
